Victor rat traps work very well and kill rats instantly. Snap
traps work best when baited with either an attractant (Bell Labs
Provoke Rat) or peanut butter to ensure that the mouse will disturb
the trigger mechanism even if the mouse touches the bait only
lightly.
HOW TO SET THE TRAP:
1. Remove small staple holding locking bar to wood base.
2. Place bait inside curl found at end of bait pedal. Remove
excess bait protruding from pedal.
3. Pull back bow and hold down with thumb.
4. With other hand, engage curved portion of the locking bar
under small, V-shaped lip on bait pedal.
5. Place trap against wall with bait pedal facing the wall.
6. If trap draws ants, try using a small ball of cotton or
strands of dental floss tied through hole in bait pedal curl.
How to Use Victor Rat Traps Effectively:
Most trapping efforts fail because too few mouse traps or rat
traps are used. You'll probably need more traps then you think. Set
enough Victor traps to kill most of the population before the
rodents begin to shy away from the traps. We recommend placing the
traps every 2-3 feet along a wall, with the trap placed
perpindicular to the wall. Rodents enter a home through holes the
size of a dime and run along walls, not over open spaces.
1. Place traps perpendicular to the wall.
2. Place traps out unset, without bait, for a few days (even 1-2
weeks) so rodents can become familiar with them.
3. Place traps where rodent activity is seen (sign of chewing,
droppings, runway, burrow).
4. Leave traps undisturbed for at least two days before moving
to a new location.
5. Check traps daily and replace as needed.
6. Wear gloves when disposing of rodent.
